About the event

ALL TICKETS NOW SOLD OUT!

St George's Mindfulness Society is excited to announce our 2nd MBLC Mindfulness Based Living Course. This 8 week course is accredited by the UK Mindfulness Association. Over the 8 weeks (plus additional intro & follow-up weeks) we explore & learn different ways to approach Mindfulness, practices to deepen our understanding and to bring it increasingly into our everyday lives.

Mindfulness practice makes us more present in our lives, helping us appreciate the texture of our experiences, enjoy ourselves and our relationships. It refocuses our attention away from our anxieties and distractions, helping us find our calm and focus. It has been shown repeatedly to improve grades in students, while reducing stress. This MBLC course is the place to really develop a Mindfulness practice, which will be a tool to support you through university, your career and your life.

Unlike most accredited Mindfulness courses - such as Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) & Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) - the MBLC course is not designed as therapy for people who identify problems in their lives - it is open to all people, whether new to mindfulness or experts, whether just exploring or seeking something specific from their practice.

MBLC programmes normally cost from £150 to £300. St George's Mindfulness Society is able to offer the bargain price of £20 for students or £50 for staff.

Participants will receive a course handbook and recorded guided practices, and a certificate once they complete the course. All we ask in return is your commitment to come to all sessions if possible - please please don't sign up if you think you'll only be able to come to some sessions as places are extremely limited. Participants should also be prepared to commit to home practice of up to 30-40 minutes daily.
