Welcome to the Dragon Bar
Hi, I'm Richard, the Bar Manager and along with my Assistant Manager Kenton and our team of student staff we offer you a warm welcome!
The Dragon Bar has a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and most importantly drinks are a lot cheaper than the local pubs around! We host quizzes, discos and club and society social events. Please complete the booking request form to reserve a space in the bar.
The bar area is open throughout the day for you to study and relax with friends in between lectures. There are several USB charging points and WiFi access to enable you to keep connected day and night. There is a free pool table and jukebox which features thousands of songs to keep you entertained.
Come and visit the Dragon Bar and support us, as all profits made goes back into Students' Union funds to support the various activities provided for you.
Opening times Monday to Friday
12pm - 1:30pm (soft drinks only)
5pm - 11pm full bar (Monday to Thursday)
4pm - 11pm full bar (Friday)
The Dragon Bar is open until 2am on events nights!
*Please note entry is strictly for over 18s only.

Health and safety guidance

In line with the University guidance regarding mask use in ‘communal’ areas, the bar will require mask use whilst ordering at the bar only. Face masks do not have to be worn whilst seated, but should be worn when leaving the table.

There is no time limit once in the bar, but please be mindful of your alcohol intake. Antisocial behaviour or excessive drinking will not be tolerated.

Handwashing/sanitising stations are provided in the bar and at the entrance. Please use these on your entrance and exit and regularly during your visit.
External Venue Hire
The Dragon Bar is available for exclusive private hire on Saturday and Sunday. It is an ideal venue for parties, receptions or formal dinners and can be adapted to suit your event no matter what size.
