This Week/Next Week

This Week (24/06/13 - 28/06/13)

• We've had the auditors in going through the accounts and getting everything officially recorded for the end of year reports

• Lauren's been working away on the 18 page NUS Green Fund Application form. We're applying for £160,000 to run an energy gym and energy dashboard system at halls to really boost our interest and engagement with sustainable issues and pro-environmental action. If we get the funding you'll be hearding  A LOT more about this!

• We've been pushing Summer Festival tickets and finalising the last bits and pieces for the events. The weather is set to be gorgrous (how lucky are we!?) so get those wellies back in the closet and put on the flip flops instead.

• We've all been writing our year reports in time for the AGM next week; its a great time to reflect on a long but rewarding year!

• Our thoughts have been with all of those pushing through their exams or revising for upcoming assessments. Well done if you're finishing and we hope that you're getting regular breaks, enjoying the sun and not feeling too stressed if you've still got them to come! Respect your colleagues if you're working in the silent section of the library.
   
• Also just a quick nod of congratulations to all those who won awards on Friday 21st Awards evening. Well done to the socs officers for a great evening.

Next Week (01/07/13 - 05/07/13)

• AGM: This is the annual general meeting and is where we look over the minutes of the previous AGM, look at the Trustee Board report, all the executive year reports and make any constitutional changes and ammendments for the following year. We hope that we will see as many of you there as possible as this is your time to come and hold us to account for the year and ask any questions you've wanted to. It also gives you the chance to have your say on the constitution which guides our union. Its 02/07/13 in LTF at 5:30pm and there is FREE PIZZA

• Summer Festival is on Saturday the 6th! Tickets still available online or from the SU. It's going to be amazing so check it out at www.sgsu.org.uk/ents/events/409

• We submite the green fund - keep those green fingers crossed!

• We have a trustee board meeting (the final one of the year) to go over all the year accounts and discuss issues such as the AAMG funding applications, halls, strategic plan, su elections and other hot topics.
