Welcome to Friends of MSF at St George’s

Friends of MSF is the official student organisation for Médecins Sans Frontières, an independent international humanitarian aid charity which delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from healthcare.  Winning the Nobel Peace Prize in 1999, MSF has received global recognition for its work and continues to operate in 72 countries today.

We are committed to raising awareness of MSF’s work and humanitarian issues. We aim to encourage students to consider participating in the great work that MSF does in the future post-graduation. In order to do this, we organise talks by speakers from MSF about their experiences in the field, global health issues and how we as students can best prepare ourselves to work with MSF in the future. We also are committed to fundraising for MSF through events such as pub quizzes, bake sales and educational workshops such as our French workshops, psychological first aid training and access to medicines workshop.

Our events are open to students of ALL courses and membership to FoMSF is free. We meet on Tuesdays or Thursdays at least once a month at 7pm. Look at our social media for updates on event timings. If you are interested in global health and hope to make a difference, join SGUL FoMSF today.

Head to our Facebook page to keep updated about our upcoming events showcasing the work of MSF. Each term we will run events led by professionals in the field of global health, featured films and much more!
