Welcome to TAD Soc

We're St George's Theatre and Dramatics Society, or TAD Soc for short! TAD Soc is St George's only purely acting society and we hold an annual play every autumn term. In 2018 we performed She Stoops To Conquer, an 18th century comedy of errors - take a look at our cast and crew in our main picture!

Past productions have included: a modern-day adaptation of Agatha Christie's murder-mystery And Then There Were None, Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream set at a rock music festival, 18th-century romp The Beaux Stratagem and George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion.

As well as our performances at St George's we also take part in drama festivals and external events throughout the year. We hold regular acting workshops and theatre trips, so there are many opportunities to get involved.

Come and join us!

We are a vibrant and friendly society and are always looking for new members to help with acting, backstage, tech and lighting support, or just general moral support!.
So it doesn't matter if you're a seasoned thespian or you've never graced a stage in your life, we welcome anyone to come and get involved with our society and have fun!

Visit our social media pages for more information, we look forward to seeing you!

Theatre and Dramatics (TAD)

Hello, and welcome to St George's Theatre and Dramatics Society

(or TAD for short)

We invite anyone and everyone to join our society, whether you are an experienced thespian or have never graced a stage before in your life! We perform an annual theatre play in November, and hold regular acting workshops and theatre trips to West End shows at discounted prices throughout the year. We are also St Georges Students Union first ever winners of the SGSU Progress award for societies.

We have previously staged Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw,  The Beaux Stratagem by George Farquar, and Shakespeares very own, A Midsummer Nights Dream. Take a look at some of our production pictures from previous shows below!

Our play this year is Agatha Christie's epic murder-mystery And Then There Were None. Audtions will be held at 6pm on 2nd and 4th October in Michael Heron, and on 5th October in Lecture Theatre F. More details can be found on our Facebook event here: https://www.facebook.com/events/342697996154011/ . Hope to see you there!
