Message from City of London Police

Please be aware of fraudsters who are targeting job seeking. Individuals registering with job seeking websites or searching for jobs on The Student Room website are being contacted by bogus recruitment companies/businesses asking them to complete application and interview forms which request personal details and banking details, as well as copies of identity documents. They may also offer a rental property.  Legitimate companies will only ask for your banking details and identity documents after you have accepted an offer of a job. Protect yourself: carry out thorough research to confirm that the organisation offering the job exists. Contact the organisation through details on their website or through your own research to confirm the job offer is genuine.
