VPF + SA Update
SGM

SGM Just wanted to start by reminding everyone that SGM will be held on the 20th Feb in MHLT 5.30pm. Apart from it being compulsory for society to send at least one representative to SGM. I personally believe it is your right and duty as the student body that elected the current executive officers to come and hold us accountable. If you have any questions or feedback for myself or the rest of the Student Union SGM is the perfect opportunity to bring it up. ***FREE PIZZA***

Timetable
We have added 2 new rooms in the RLSC which can be booked, this has also led to the timetable being updated again. The Official timetable has now been uploaded to Georges ball (http://www.georgesballs.com/mrbs/web/day.php?year=2018&month=2&day=15&area=10), view the link below. If you’re unable to see your booking on the timetable, this will be because you did not respond to my email asking you to confirm your bookings.

Please get in touch if you have any questions about RLSC bookings, I have also attached the room booking guide to help with navigate Georges ball.

Squash court
We heard your concerns and are finally having the Squash Courts redone a bit. The works are going to get started on by the 19 th February. During the first week Squash Court 1 will be closed and during the second week Squash Court will be closed. Hopefully all Squash Courts will be available again on the 5th March.

RLSC Cupboard Clear Up
The RLSC has recently been cleared up and I hope that everyone who uses the space can keep their equipment in their area. I’ll be doing random spot checks for the rest of the year and equipment that appears to have just been thrown randomly on the floor we’ll be picked up and cleared away. Regarding any issues with the cleanliness or state of the RLSC ie. Issues with lights, toilets, floors, etc. please report it to estates@sgul.ac.uk

Awards

I hope that by now you’ve already seen some of the advertising for SGSU Awards, we have put together a little advertising pack that will let you know about everything you need to know about Awards and how to write nominations. Please help us recognise and award the amazing work done by our Societies and the amazing people within our student body. If you know someone a lecturer, student or society at Georges that has been generally awesome please nominate them.

You can find the Awards Nomination Information Pack under Committee resources the SGSU website: https://www.sgsu.org.uk/pageassets/club-soc/committee-resources/SGSU-Awards-Nominations2018-information-pack.docx

VPF + SA Survey
When I was I running for this role, I released a survey to see how the student body viewed the SU and its sabbatical officer. I wanted to know what the real issues we all faced were so we could address them. I ran on a platform of wanting to have a conversation with you all - of where we wanted the SU to go.

There is a link below with the Survey I released during elections, I have not changed the questions as I hope to compare both set of results, it would be very much appreciated if you took 5 min to fill it out.

VP Finance Meeting
One of my manifesto points was to meet all of our societies, at this point I have met around 50% of you all but I do still aim to meet the rest of you before my time finishes. I hope that by now a majority of you know who I am, I’ll be arranging more meeting in the coming weeks and months

Babysitting job
DAYTIME BABYSITTING FOR A 5 MONTH OLD BABY IN TOOTING

I am a freelance TV writer with two kids, one has just turned 4 and is at preschool, the other is only 5 months. I need help mostly with the very chill and happy baby, always in the daytime. I work ad hoc but will generally need some help every week, varying from a couple of hours to more, but I can sort of fit around what works for the right person... The right person will absolutely love babies, have a cracking sense of humour and enjoy hanging out with a very loud four year old as well if needed. Just enjoying seeing a baby growing into a person who knows and trusts you - that's the requirement! Please do get in touch if this sounds like you. I appreciate this might not always fit with uni hours or shift work, I'm more interested in the right person and we can iron out the kinks of how this can work for both of us.
