SGSU AWARDS

Rules and regulations of the music room

  1. The music room can only be booked by paid members. If you wish to get membership, please speak to VP Finance.
  2. If the music room is booked for use by a society, non-members can use the music room under the following conditions:
    • At least one paid member is present at all times;
    • The music room is only used for the period it is booked. If your society has the music room booked from 1pm to 4pm, all non-paid members must leave at 4pm.
  3. Equipment must not be removed from the room without the permission of a senior officer, technical officer or societies officer. The exception to this is pianos, which are booked separately; if you require the music room and a piano, you need to book both. If you remove equipment, it must be returned before the next confirmed booking. You can only remove equipment from the room if:
    • The room is not booked, and you are a paid member;
    • The room is booked by your society;
    • The room is booked by another society who allow you to move equipment.
  4. If you move pianos from the music room, they must be returned before the next booking. When moving pianos, do so slowly and with care; the more they get knocked or pushed over bumps, the more out of tune they will be.
  5. The music room is not a space for dance rehearsals or socialising. The AHR and HGR are for dance rehearsals, and the games room and bar are for socialising. The music room is solely for the practice, rehearsal or recording of music.
  6. No food or drink should be consumed in the music room, with the exception of bottled soft drinks. This is especially true of alcoholic drinks - anyone found consuming alcohol in the music room is liable to have their membership revoked without refund.
