RAG's Mystery Night Out 

Check out RAG’s Mystery Night Out Event on 16th Feb 2017.

SGSU RAG takes you for a night out to a random UK city for a bit of clubbing. Includes: return transport, club entry, RAG t-shirt and a donation to charity.

KCsoc Interfaith Discussion

St George's KCsoc will be holding their third annual interfaith discussion, and having a variety of representatives of several faith groups on the panel. It's a really really great informative event, and you don't want to miss out!

If you have a couple of minutes to spare, head on to their facebook event page and vote on the topic to be discussed! There's quite a couple of interesting ones to choose from... (remember to bring in your questions for the day!)

Do you have an opinion on facilities and learning resources? Then the Learning Resources User Groups would like to hear from you. The group run termly meetings to discuss the learning resources and facilities at St George’s.

 

The next meeting is taking place on Monday 8th February at 1230-1400 in J1.13. Please come along and have a say.

St George's Alumni Telephone Fundraising Campaign

St George's will be running our 2018 alumni telephone fundraising campaign from Sat 24th February - Thursday 15th March.

The Development and Alumni Office is looking for enthusiastic students to talk to our alumni on the phone. It is a great opportunity for you to hear stories of St George's in the past, network with professionals and fundraise for student causes.

Shifts are flexible and will take place on evenings and weekends. Full training and support is provided. Callers will be paid £9.75 per hour.

Pulsenotes LIVE revision weekend for Medical Students

Pulsenotes LIVE is a Medical & Surgical finals weekend aimed at students in years 4-6. We will be covering a wide range of topics essential for any medical student preparing for finals.

The Bhangra Showdown

As many of you may know, this year St George's Bhangra Team is competing in the world's largest Bhangra competition - The Bhangra Showdown. Hosted by Imperial Punjabi Society and now in its 11th year, The Bhangra Showdown will be taking place on the 3rd of February in Genting Arena, NEC, Birmingham. 

With well over 3000 tickets already sold, it is looking to be one of the largest Showdowns yet and we would appreciate if you would all come and support your team! We have already sold 100 tickets to St George's students and if you would like to buy a ticket please contact our ticket rep Navneeta Tiwari. Lastly, The Bhangra Showdown is a charity event so please donate to our JustGiving page (link below) and share our charity video on Facebook to spread awareness.

Humanities in the Age of Humans

The Institute of Advanced Studies at UCL is welcoming Prof Dipesh Chakrabarty for two advanced seminars on the theme of ‘Humanities in the Age of Humans’ open to academic staff and PhD students, and we are extending the application to member institutions of UoL. The seminars are scheduled for the 12th and 19th March from 4.00 – 6.00pm in IAS Common Ground, UCL. Additionally, Prof Chakrabarty will give a public lecture on the theme of ‘Planetary Crises & the Difficulty of Being Modern’ (rsvp at: http://bit.ly/2j3wgm4). Registration to the seminars is by sending a short statement describing how the themes are relevant to the applicants research (100 words max). These should be sent to me (Albert Brenchata.brenchat@ucl.ac.uk) by the 1st February 2018. Readings will be circulated as soon as participation is confirmed.
