Swimming Club
St George’s University swim team is a friendly and relaxed club that welcomes swimmers of all abilities. We are proud to have grown in numbers over the past year and hope this trend will continue! We include a mixture of sprint work, longer distance and medley in our training sessions, so there is something for everyone. We took a team to Sheffield in November 2019 to compete in the BUCS short course championships. The team included students who had never raced before and students who had been swimming competitively for years. It was a brilliant experience with some great swims and everyone had a fun weekend. We hope to compete again and also attend more local competitions in the coming year.
But it's not all work and no play - we organise social events throughout the year such as going out for meals or meeting in the SU bar. In the past, we have also organised a swim tour abroad when we go away for a week to swim in the sun!
All our training sessions are held at Tooting Leisure Centre: Wednesday 5-6pm, Friday 5:30-6:30pm.
