St George's mixed hockey club
Whether you've held a hockey stick before or not, Mixed Hockey is the club for you! We are non-committing and operate a pay-when-you-play system. If you want to join a club where you can escape the competitive nature of many over clubs, socialise and meet new people, we are the one. Our club attracts a wide variety of students from those who regularly play competitive sports to those who prefer the social aspect of university. We aim to organise atleast one game of mixed hockey a month with other local university teams who are just as eager to undertake social activities before, during and after each hockey game.
Each year we are invited to the annual 'Tour In The South' in Southampton where we meet local London teams as well as other universities further afield. We also host our own tournament in March with other London universities to celebrate the end of exams which always seems to be a hit.
Here at St George's Mixed Hockey Club, we have an enormous amount of fun with a bit of competitive spirit now and again; usually helped along by our own "Gin Fairy" who is constantly on the pitch. We also have club traditions such as our club 'mascot' Lenard who has never missed a half time team talk in the history of the club.
So if you fancy joining the only club at St George's where fraternisation is not only allowed, but actively encouraged or have any questions, come see us at the Undergraduate Fresher's Fayre stall on Monday 25th September or get in touch with us by email! We look forward to welcoming you to our amazing club.
