Dr Mohammad Razai, first author of the research into Covid-19 health inequalities, has won the GP Trainee of the Year/Rising Star Award at the General Practice Awards 2020.
Supported by Pulse, the annual awards are given to individuals and teams for their achievements in general practice over the previous year. Dr Razai was one of four GPs shortlisted for the award, and was selected as the eventual winner of this year’s prize.
Speaking on his win, Dr Razai said, “I am honoured and overwhelmed with joy to receive this award. I am grateful to my NHS colleagues, practice team, trainers, and St George's for providing a supportive and nourishing environment. This recognition is truly heartening after a difficult year for all of us.”
