St George's Mindfulness Society are very excited to be able to announce our first officially accredited Mindfulness course. The Mindfulness Association's “Mindfulness Based Living Course” (MBLC) is an experiential course for beginners or experienced Mindfulness people to develop meditation practice, present awareness, and compassion. MBLC is normally priced between £150 and £300, but as we love you so much we will be charging the bargain price of £20 for students or £30 for staff (university and hospital) – for the whole 10 weeks!

Mindfulness is increasingly recognised internationally to reduce stress levels, and improve concentration and sleep patterns. MBLC isn't a therapy modality – it is designed to give anyone the opportunity to have an in-depth personal experience of Mindfulness and develop a sustained personal practice. Mindfulness and compassion as developed in MBLC is particularly relevant for people in Healthcare professions, where burnout and compassion-fatigue are major problems.

Participants will receive a course handbook and recorded guided practices, and a certificate once they complete the course. Participants must commit to the whole course, which includes 8 weeks of classes plus an intro and follow-up week, and an optional Saturday session after Easter. They must also be prepared to commit to home practice of up to 30-40 minutes daily.
