A full-time Sabbatical role, The President is the leading figure of the Executive Committee, responsible for the day-to-day running and management of the Union’s student-facing activities. Vice President Student Activities and Experience

A full-time Sabbatical role, The VP Student Activities and Experience is responsible for the many societies within the Union, and the extracurricular activities that the Union offers. The VP is a key part of the way the Union improves the student experience on campus, and allows Union Members to run societies dedicated to their interests. The VP ensures that the Union works to maximise the availability of activities on offer through the Union.

Vice President Education and Welfare

A full-time Sabbatical role, The VP Education and Welfare is responsible for the integration and development of welfare and education provisions for all Students. The VP is a key part of the way the Union improves the Union’s commitments to student welfare, stays aware of the issues that students face throughout their time at University, and represents the student body on issues that affect them. The VP ensures that the Union actively campaigns for the benefit of its Members.

Events Officer

A role for teams of up to 4, The Events Officers are part of the Union’s events programme, and ensure the successful running of all the Union’s major events – from Freshers Fortnight and Discos to Balls and Ceremonies. Events Officers are an important part of these events – you’ll be suggesting ideas, planning, designing and helping run them, as well as looking for new events the Union can run. You’ll have a role in executing some of the most engaging and well-attended events the Union runs.

Charity and Volunteering Officer

A role for teams up to 4, The Charity and Volunteering Officers lead the Union’s charitable, fundraising and volunteering drives. They not only make sure the Union is raising money for charity through its events, but also help any society that is running fundraising or volunteering drives. They sure the Union does its bit for the wider community; from the selection of charities to work with, to encouraging societies to raise money for charity and promoting voluntary opportunities.

Heritage Officer

A role for teams up to 2, The Heritage Officers keep students informed of and interested in the history and legacies of the Union, and keep the Union traditions and spirit strong. Heritage Officers have an important role in preserving the history of the Union, and the societies and other groups that form the Union. They not only run the traditional events of the Union, but work to inform students of facts they may not know about the Union, and promote the Union through its legacy.

Democracy Officer

A role for teams up to 2, The Democracy Officers help ensure the Union remains democratic, representative of its Membership and that the student body is engaged in the democratic processes of the Union. Student Trustee

Three individually-elected roles, The Student Trustees are part of the Union’s Board of Trustees, who are the highest authority of the Union – the Board of Trustees are responsible for the overall strategy and guidance of the Union, and for overseeing the actions of all of its Elected Members and staff. Student Trustees play an important part within the Executive, holding other officers to account and providing a further link between Elected Members and the Board of Trustees.

Societies Officer

A role for teams up to 4, The Societies Officers are the first point of contact for the SU’s many societies, forming the link between societies and the Union’s elected members. A role for teams up to 4, The Sports Officers are the first point of contact for the SU’s sports clubs, forming the link between clubs and the Union’s elected members. They engage with clubs to foster and develop them.
