The International Students Society organises socials and events throughout the year and is a great platform for international students to socialise, support one another, and have fun together.

HOST UK

St. George’s offers international students the opportunity to enjoy a cultural exchange by spending a day or weekend in a British home. UK charity HOST has hundreds of friendly, welcoming people across the country who would like to meet and give you a home-away-from-home experience. 

To find out more, or to submit an application, please visit www.hostuk.org . Applications are currently being accepted for the Summer: have a truly local experience during the summer months.

FREE visits are currently available to students from Yemen, Syria, Israel, Jordan, Palestine, Lebanon, Oman. An application fee may apply otherwise. Please see the HOST website for more information.

 

English Language Support

English language support for students, whose first language is not English, and writing development for all students is available at at the Academic Skills Centre (ASC).

From October to December, the ASC will only run on a drop in basis over lunchtimes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Precise hours and opening times will be confirmed in September and posted on the Academic Skills Centre pages on Moodle, in the Study+ section.
