Haruka and Kaze

International Officers

Hi, we are Haruka and Kaze and we are your International Officers for 2022/2023

I'm Kaze, originally from New Zealand, I grew up in an international school in Hong Kong and have now been living in the UK for one year. I'm Haruka, originally born in Japan, I’ve lived in Malaysia, the United States, and Poland, where I spent the majority of my school years in an international school.

We’re second and third year medics who have experienced first-hand the importance of a supported and easy transition into university, especially when it involves moving to a new country of residence.

Our goals for this year are:

  • Represent the views and interests & creating a safe point of contact for international students

  • Encourage the sharing & inclusivity of different cultures that make up our international student body

  • Continue fostering a good connection with the ISS to support incoming international freshers in the transition to higher education in a new country

  • SU Bar events and gatherings outside George’s

  • Continue discussions of how to improve the international officer role

  • Connecting the St George’s international community both internally and externally with other universities

Thank you so much for voting for us and we’re excited to continue helping prospective students have the same smooth transition to St George’s and build a stronger community of support within and beyond the university.

We can’t wait to meet you all (hopefully in person), and if you have any questions or ideas, please feel free to email us: internat@sgul.ac.uk
