St George's Surgical Society is one of the oldest surgical societies in the United Kingdom, founded in 1735. Our membership consists of over 2,000 current and former students. We host annual surgical simulation workshops which attract national and international audiences. We also host regularl suturing workshops, careers talks and other practical skills sessions.
Our conferences and workshops offer a unique opportunity to practice skills and procedures over and above the level that medical students would normally be able to do. We have a fantastic relationship with different surgical organisations, and have hosted several conferences in the state-of-the-art GAPS Centre at St George's Hospital.
Last year we organised several successful conferences, workshops and events including:
ASiT and SGSS International Surgery Conference
SGSS and ICSM Anatomy Competition
Surgery Finals Revision Course
Women in Surgery Conference
Suturing Workshops
We are a friendly society and welcome new members. Visit our social media pages for more information about the society and to find out about upcoming events.
