Ops In Surgery (The St. George’s Surgical Society) has a distinguished history in the field of surgery.  Our remit as a society is to encourage and promote surgery as a career.  We aim to help you develop an interest in the field of surgery and acquire a set of skills and knowledge that will aid you in the future.{jo

A career in surgery is becoming ever more competitive, thus we strive to make you aware of the current prospects of surgery in the country and how to tailor your CV accordingly.  Surgical societies are one of the best ways you can demonstrate your interest in a career in surgery while you are still a medical student.

Full membership costs £10 for one year.  This includes two free suturing workshops (one basic and one advanced), free or discounted entry to all our events and priority email advertising.  You may join on the door at most of our events.  You can also join as a standard member, which adds you to our mailing list to ensure you receive all the information on our events.  If you have any questions please email opsinsurgery@sgul.ac.uk.
